About Namaste A Taste of India
Our shop is an Alladin’s cave of everything you need to experience, or create for yourself, the taste and atmosphere of authentic North Indian cuisine
What our shop is about
Namaste means hello and with both hands joined together it means I bow to you to welcome you.
So the name of the shop means hello and welcome to a taste of India.
Once you step into the shop you will sense the different aromas of spices and cooked food go through you and draw you in to explore further. Looking around many customers have said they have stepped into Aladdins Cave as wherever you look you will find unique products that you may not be familiar with before or unsure of its purpose but we all always happy to help you so just ask.
From Indian Kitchenware to Incense sticks from exclusive alcohol to Indian artisan sweets you will find a little India in Whitley Bay selling authentic food that’s cooked on the premises where customers can see the open kitchen where food is freshly prepared.

Authentic North Indian cuisine
Namaste is not a restaurant but similar to a roadside cafe you will find back home where hungry people stop to be fed delicious freshly made food and Chai.
You can order a takeaway, choose to sit in or choose what’s available from the Deli counter on the day. All allergens are catered for.
Our popular Indian Afternoon Teas are back which consist of Indian snacks, Parathas, Bombay Sandwich, home made sweets and masala chai.

A Little Of My Story
Watching my elders cook along with the numerous visits to India, aroused a desire to cook the various Indian dishes, and a passion to bring the original Indian Cuisines back over the seas to the North East.
The struggle to buy Ingredients from local shops and the passion to cook authentic Indian food is the reason I opened Namaste Taste of India.
Being a mother of two young boys with the difficulties faced in school holidays for childcare gave me more motivation to go ahead with this new venture.
I like to get my kids involved to help me out where I can and they enjoy that too such as hosting cookery classes on Zoom to school kids and interacting with customers.
